Thailand Full Itinerary

Day 1

We recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Bangkok's vibrant atmosphere.

  • Meet at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) at 3:00 pm.
  • Your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport, and you will take included transportation to our accommodations located along the Chao Phraya River in the capital city of Bangkok.
  • ‍Recover and relax after a long flight at the hotel or take a walk to the nearby Wang Lang Market to take in the sights and sounds of Thailand.
  • Enjoy a delicious Thai meal at your opening dinner on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Get to know your new friends and begin to settle into Thailand.

Day 2

  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel as you listen to the sounds of the morning commerce taking place along the Chao Phraya River.
  • Travel outside the city to Bang Krajoe, known as Bangkok’s green lung due to its green spaces and geographical shape.
  • From Khlong Toei Pier, take a short longtail boat ride across the river and then get fitted for your bicycle with the help of a local guide.
  • During your cycling adventure, you will ride on the elevated jungle pathways through coconut plantations, canals, and local communities. We will stop in and visit the Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park, a small little green oasis with trails, pavilions, and lakes. The total cycling distance is about 7.5 miles (12 km). 
  • For lunch, you’ll eat at a local restaurant in Bang Krajoe where you can try local favorites like guay tiew, pad Thai, or up your spice level with pad krapow or spicy basil stir fry.
  • Return to your hotel and relax for the rest of the afternoon or ask your Trip Leader for more recommendations on things to do in the neighborhood.
  • Tonight, you’ll be led through the bustling night markets of Chinatown on a guided food tour.

Day 3

  • Wake up in Thailand and enjoy breakfast right at your hotel.
    *Please wear temple-appropriate clothing today. We suggest pants or a long dress and a shirt that covers the shoulders.‍
  • Ferry across the Chao Phraya River to visit the famous Grand Palace and then on to Wat Pho, where you will find the magnificent 150-foot (46-meter) long gold-plated Reclining Buddha.
  • After the tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the remarkable area of Old Bangkok.
  • Return to your hotel, freshen up, and then pack your bags. It’s time to return to the airport for your included domestic flight up to Chiang Mai. (1.5 hour flight)
  • Arrive in Chiang Mai and take local transportation to your hotel located in the Old Town.
  • Tonight’s dinner is not included, but your Trip Leader will provide you with a few recommendations so you can continue to taste some of Thailand’s famous cuisine.

Day 4

  • Wake up in Chiang Mai and have breakfast at your hotel. 
  • Take a stroll through Old Town and encounter ancient temples, worldly cuisines, and colorful markets.
  • Enjoy a wide range of optional activities in Chiang Mai. Your Trip Leader can help you with making activity arrangements.
    Suggestions: Muay Thai class, swimming at Grand Canyon Water Park, or personal time to explore the old city of Chiang Mai.
  • Ride up to the mountaintop temple of Doi Suthep in local songthaews--covered pickup trucks with rows of seats in the back.  
  • Watch the sunset while listening to monks chant their evening prayers.
  • After coming down from the mountaintop, enjoy dinner as a group and reflect upon the day’s adventures.

Day 5

  • After a good night’s rest, meet everyone for breakfast and freshly brewed coffee.
  • Drive one hour north of the city to Bua Thong Waterfalls, locally known as Sticky Falls.  
  • Spend the day splashing around in this forested paradise.
  • Keeping it “sticky,” feast on a picnic-style lunch of papaya salad and grilled meats served with Khao Niaow (sticky rice) at the waterfall park.
  • Return to your hotel, shower, then spend your afternoon doing one of the optional activities.
    Suggestions: cooking class, crafts at the Elephant Parade House, or Thai massage.
  • This evening, you are free to explore and have dinner on your own – your Trip Leader will offer recommendations.
  • If you’d like to take a break from Thai food, you can also find international cuisine options in Chiang Mai.

Day 6

  • Start your day with a refreshing breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit an elephant sanctuary to learn about Asian elephants and conservation efforts to improve the lives of these giant animals.
  • Upon arrival at the sanctuary, assist with the feeding of the elephants, observe them going about their daily activities, and hear stories about individual elephants from their caretakers.
  • Lunch will be served in the sanctuary’s dining area.
  • Continue to observe the elephants as we walk around the park, making our way to the river where we will view elephants bathing.
  • After freshening up at the hotel, celebrate the final night in Chiang Mai with an included group dinner.

Day 7

  • Waking up to the final morning in Chiang Mai, reflect upon your experiences as you eat breakfast with your friends.
  • Take an included two-hour flight from Chiang Mai to Krabi, a beach town near the Andaman coast. This flight has a luggage allowance of 44 lbs (20 kg) checked luggage and 15 lbs (7kg) carry-on luggage.
  • Upon arriving at Krabi, take a short drive to the pier. (~30 minute drive
  • Cruise in a long-tailed boat to Railay Beach, gazing at the limestone karsts that jut out of the sea.
  • Explore the beaches, rent a kayak, and catch the sunset.
  • Settle into beach life with a refreshing fruit smoothie and dinner overlooking the waters of the Andaman Sea.
  • Rest up and get ready for a full day of island hopping tomorrow.

Day 8

  • Want more adventure this morning? Join in on an optional hike to the viewpoint before breakfast.
  • After breakfast, cruise around in a private boat to the islands of the Andaman Sea; swim in clear blue waters, spot birds nesting, or simply relax with your friends.
  • Lunch will be packed ahead of time and enjoyed on the boat.
  • On our return from the islands, we will visit our partner rock climbing school to get gear fitted for tomorrow’s climbing adventure. 
  • Feast on some more delicious Thai cuisine and enjoy a fire show!

Day 9

  • Be sure to eat a hearty breakfast at the hotel’s buffet to ensure you have the energy to get vertical in one of the world’s premier rock climbing destinations!
  • Walk to the climbing school to meet our guides and venture to the nearby limestone crags. Climbing routes vary from beginner to intermediate; advanced climbing is available upon request.
  • Fashioning headlamps, wander through a cave, and descend out of the mouth of a cave, taking in the view from an iconic Railay viewpoint. Tide & weather permitting.
  • Rejuvenate your muscles with lunch while sitting on the beach at the base of stunning limestone cliffs.
  • Need a little pick-me-up after a full morning of activities? Take a dip in the sea, grab some fresh fruit, or open up a coconut.
  • Enjoy dinner and watch the setting sun over the horizon on this final evening together in Thailand.

Day 10: Relaxation & Departure

Day 10

  • Rise early for an optional kayaking session (tide permitting), then enjoy our last hearty breakfast at the hotel.
  • Make the most of your final morning on Railay Beach! Swim in the crystal clear waters, watch monkeys swing from the trees, or loosen up with a Thai massage.
  • Say your farewells to your new friends before making either your way to the airport and catching your flight home or extending your stay in Thailand.
  • You are free to leave at any time on this day. Hotel check-out is at noon, and we'll arrange transfers to Krabi International Airport (KBV) based on your flight time.
